Cinematographers Union of Malayalam Cinema (CUMAC) is the nodal body of the cinematographers working in the Malayalam film industry. Formerly known as the MACTA Cinematographers Union, it was transformed into CUMAC in 2009.

CUMAC is a registered Union under the Trade Union Act, XVI of 1926 with Registration No: 07.22.09, of the Labor Commission, Government of Kerala and is affiliated to Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), through which also affiliated to All India Film Employees Confederation (AIFEC).


CUMAC ensures member’s professional and personal welfare and works for their natural rights. CUMAC relentlessly functions for the creative development of all its members. For that we conducts regular workshops and interaction sessions of our own peers who have mastered the art and technique of cinematography. It is also CUMAC's policy to promote young talents and support them in building their professional career.

From 2013 CUMAC will be honouring deserving personalities with CUMAC Achievement Award as a mark of respect and acknowledgement of excellence in their work. CUMAC has the best of working cinematographers in India. CUMAC conducts cinematography workshops in regular intervals. This is to groom our upcoming cinematographers to the global level by interacting with the legends.
